Nothing says holiday spirit like emotional trauma and interdimensional chaos.

Stranger Things is getting ready to close the portal, and Netflix has finally dropped the release schedule. Season 5 will arrive in three batches: the first four episodes land on November 26, another three on Christmas Day, and the final chapter arrives on December 31, just in time to ruin your New Year's Eve plans.

Set in the fall of 1987, 18 months after Hawkins started splitting open, the final season brings the original gang back together to settle scores with Vecna. The Duffer Brothers say they're going full circle with this one, leaning into everything that made the show a cultural juggernaut.

Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp are all back. They're older, warier, and probably more emotionally damaged than ever. Winona Ryder and David Harbour return to remind everyone that no one does chaos parenting like Joyce and Hopper. New faces are joining too, including Linda Hamilton, which feels like a very intentional nod to '80s sci-fi fans, and Amybeth McNulty, who’s been promoted to a bigger role after a strong showing last season.
